I’m always interested in new things and new technologies and I’ve heard a lot about Ruby on Rails or RoR as many call it. Ruby on Rails is an open source web framework that according to their site has been optimized for programmer happiness and sustainable productivity. I don’t know much about it but I have seen some great websites built with Ruby on Rails and I have become intrigued by what it offers. I even went so far as to find a Ruby on Rails developer in the Central Florida with the idea that I may drop in one day and talk to a develper about some ideas I have for this site as well as our moving company services.

Atlantic Dominion Solutions has a great website with quite a bit if information on RoR including an impressive portfolio of sites they have designed and developed. If you are looking for a Ruby on Rails development team it looks like this might be the company for you. They do offer a wider variety of web development services besides RoR. You can read more at their website TechCFL.com

Finding a new webhost and registrar at the same time is a post from: Affordable Web Pro

So it finally happened. Registerfly is falling apart and wreaking havoc with our existing sites with them. Yes we still have some sites with them as moving all 300 plus domains at once was a big deal right now and we’ve been slowly moving to have all our domains transfered as soon as possible. After 5 years with the company I’m saddened to have to eave them. I really do like sticking with one provider and they have been so good for so long but I belive it’s safe we all stay clear of this wreck. GoDaddy is where I’m going. They may not be perfect but I feel safe with them at least.

We’re having some issues with our webhost also believe it or not. The new server we moved to was not working properly for nearly two months The past week or two it has been much better but for now things seem to be going stronger. The sites do seem more responsive and pages load quicker on db driven websites but some script errors seemed to pop up and things we messed up pretty bad. My hosting company failed me on the customer service side. They could not seem to get the migration of my sites correct and I spent a lot of time checking over all my sites and making sure things like DNS we’re correct. It’s a real pain to be honest with you but necessary.

I took a look around for information on web hosting companies and found this web hosting unleashed blog with many quality articles on the web hosting and online industry. These guys seemed to have had the same issues with RegisterFly as and the many others from Registerfly fan site are experiencing. Some of these guys find Enom at fault in things and I question their involvement in this thing. My troubles go back over a year with them. Yes I know, I stayed with them for quite some time through many issues. I believed the "we’re switching things over" line of crap for a few months too man before I realized they we’re stealing domains from clients and others.

I’ve been in email contact with some of the top guys with information given to me by some ICANN big wigs and he flat out told me they do not guarantee they can renew or transfer domains. They have been happy to charge me for things but they have not provided the services paid for. I wish there we’re a clean way out of this for everyone but they seemed to have screwed a few other webmasters and I am certain that this group of people will not allow them to forget about this so soon. I would expect they go out of business and we’ll need to keep an eye out they don’t pop back up as some other company in the business. These guys should not be allowed to conduct business online any longer.

I was impressed with the work on web hosting unleashed blog and did some research on new web hosting services I will be needing some day soon. I want to get some new hosting accounts with smaller companies and move around some of our web projects to different c class ip ranges. I’d like to reorganize all our projects into one registrar but multiple hosting facilities and I may even try out a few different hosting services recommenced through the web hosting unleashed blog including VPS hosting and Dedicated Servers to break up a group of sites we manage and cross link them for seo results.
